Incident #One
One morning Bruce was outside for his morning walk, Mark was feeding Ellie and Lori was relaxing facing away from where I was in the kitchen. Instead of asking for help, I stood on a chair to get something off the top top shelf. As I stepped back off the chair onto the floor with my right foot, my left foot snagged the back of the chair and I lost my balance and fell flat on my butt! The commotion was slow enough that both Mark and Lori helplessly watched my descent. Lori kept saying, "Dad is going to be so mad at you... dad is going to be so mad at you." I was very grateful for my extra padded landing and glad I didn't hurt myself. We had a good laugh and I discovered a lumpy sore spot when I sat on a chair later but it healed quickly! AND I learned to ask for help getting things off the shelf.
Incident #TWO
On our last day at Patricia Lake, Bruce and Mark rented kayaks to explore... They had 15 minutes to get set up before the clock started on their hourly rental. Lori and Ellie were having afternoon naps and I was sitting outside enjoying the sunshine and my crochet project when I saw a fully clothed but dripping wet man walking toward me. It was Mark... finished in less than 15 minutes. He had a short encounter with his kayak and landed in the lake. He was a little annoyed that Lori's regrets were that she had missing watching him tip - not that he had a sudden dip in the recently frozen and still icy cold lake!

Fun and Faith
I love it that we can have so much fun creating meaningful surprises. Thanks for the beautiful portraits. A refreshed flash from the past and a sparkle of things to come. Your gift is worth more to me than a million diamonds!

This was my devotional for today
God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was excellent in every way. Genesis 1:31
I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him . . . skill in all kinds of crafts. Exodus 31:3
God's character is seen in his creative activity. He also graces us with the ability to create beautiful art!
